JWZ-BM02D 05D 12D Double Station Blow Molding Machine

This series is designed for the production of small to medium hollow containers up to 2L, 5L, and 12L. It features a continuous die head configuration, paired with large-diameter main screws (65–90mm) and a servo oil pump system, offering both high productivity and energy efficiency. The machine comes standard with servo-driven mold clamping (servo traverse optional), enabling fast mold changes and precise positioning, making it suitable for continuous production in food, chemical, and daily chemical packaging enterprises. Customization based on customer molds and raw materials is supported.

  • Application

The BM series (BM02D, BM05D, BM12D) is specifically designed for continuous extrusion blow molding of hollow plastic articles. Maximum product volumes are 2L, 5L, and 12L respectively. These machines are widely used for:
·Food & Beverage Packaging – production of oil bottles, juice containers, and water jugs (e.g., 5L edible oil drums using BM05D).
·Chemical & Industrial Containers – manufacturing 12L square drums for lubricants, detergents, or agrochemicals (BM12D, max volume 12L).
·Cosmetics & Daily Chemicals – making 2L shampoo bottles or liquid detergent containers (BM02D).
·Automotive & Workshop Fluids – blow molding 5L coolant or windshield washer fluid bottles.
·Real case: A chemical packaging company in Southeast Asia replaced their old reciprocating machine with the BM12D. The continuous die head structure increased output from 550 cycles/hour to over 1,200 cycles/hour (dry cycle: 600×2), while the 90mm main screw and 160 kg/h plasticizing capacity (PE) enable stable production of 12L HDPE square drums with uniform wall thickness.

  • Advantages

Feature

Advantage

Continuous die head structure

Uninterrupted parison flow → higher efficiency; suitable for multi-cavity

molds (up to 2 cavities on BM12D)

Servo-driven clamping & optional servo traverse motor

Low energy consumption (e.g., BM12D total power 90kW, but servo pump

reduces actual energy use by 30-50% compared to hydraulic systems)

Wide mold adaptability

Max mold size: BM12D 540×500 mm;

platen spacing 240-640 mm → accommodates various container shapes

High clamping force

BM12D 120 KN ensures flash-free large 12L parts;

BM02D 40 KN perfect for thin-walled 2L bottles

Flexible traverse stroke options

BM05D and BM12D offer 450/520 mm and 600/650 mm strokes, suitable for tall or irregular containers

Compact footprint

BM12D only 4.2×3.2×3.0 m → fits standard factory space

Real advantage case: A customer producing 5L HDPE square drums switched to the BM05D. The servo oil pump (15kW) reduced electricity costs by 38% compared to a traditional 22kW fixed displacement pump machine, while the cycle rate of 700×2 cycles/hour increased daily output by 22%.

  • Process

Based on machine parameters and industry standards, our QC process includes:
A. Incoming & Pre-molding Inspection
Screw & barrel inspection – main screw diameter (65/75/90mm) tolerance within ±0.02mm.
Heating system test – die head heating power (6~10kW) checks temperature distribution uniformity (±1.5°C).
B. Dry Cycle & Dynamic Testing
Dry cycle rate verification – BM02D: 900×2 cycles/hour, BM05D: 700×2, BM12D: 600×2 – measured with high-speed counter.
Clamping force calibration – using strain gauges; e.g., BM12D must reach 120KN ±5%.
Servo response test – oil pump motor (11~18.5kW) acceleration time ≤0.2 sec; optional servo traverse positioning accuracy ±0.1mm.
C. Trial Production with Real Resin (PE)
Plasticizing capacity test – run PE for 1 hour; BM12D target 160 kg/h ±5%.
Parison weight consistency – take 10 samples; weight variation ≤2%.
Bottle drop test – fill 12L container with water, drop from 1.5m height – no cracks (ASTM D2463).
Leak test – 0.8 bar air pressure underwater for 30 seconds – no bubbles.
D. Final Machine Acceptance
24-hour continuous operation – monitor total power consumption (BM12D ≤90kW) and hydraulic oil temperature rise ≤15°C.
Mold change time – BM05D typically ≤20 minutes (using optional servo traverse).
Case example: Before shipping a BM05D to a beverage customer in the Middle East, we conducted a 48-hour test producing 5L water bottles. Parison weight deviation was only 1.2%, and the machine maintained 698 cycles/hour (99.7% of rated speed). The customer reported flash-free operation after 6 months.

  • Q&A

Q1: What materials can the BM series process?
A: Mainly PE (HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE), also PP, PETG, and EVA. The 75/90mm screws with L/D ratio of 24:1 ensure good homogenization of regrind (up to 30% crushed material).
Q2: How to choose between BM02D, BM05D, and BM12D?
A: Based on your maximum product volume:
BM02D → 0.1L to 2L (e.g., cosmetic bottles, small tomato ketchup containers).
BM05D → 1L to 5L (oil bottles, chemical cans).
BM12D → 3L to 12L (square drums, industrial pails).
*Tip: For 5L with very high output requirements, BM12D running two cavities can produce >1,200 pieces/hour.*
Q3: Is the optional servo traverse motor worth it?
A: Yes for high-mix production. It reduces mold change time from 45 minutes to about 15 minutes and provides precise positioning (±0.1mm), eliminating manual adjustments. One European customer saves €12,000 per year in downtime costs.
Q4: What is the actual power consumption of the BM12D?
A: Total installed power is 90kW, but the servo pump + energy recovery reduces average consumption to 35–50 kWh per hour (depending on cycle time and part weight). Example: producing 12L HDPE square drums (500g each) at 600 cycles/hour → actual consumption ~42 kWh.
Q5: How often should the main screw be replaced?
A: For standard PE and good maintenance (regular cleaning), nitrided steel screw life is 15,000–20,000 hours. For regrind or abrasive materials (e.g., calcium carbonate filled), expect 8,000–10,000 hours.
Q6: Can the machine produce multi-layer containers?
A: The continuous die head can be upgraded to 3-layer co-extrusion (requires an additional extruder). The standard BM series is single-layer. For custom barrier layer solutions, please contact us.
