DYTSS Series Two- shaft Shredder

The DYTSS series is a range of dual-shaft shredders designed for medium-to-heavy industrial waste volume reduction. With dual drive motors, extra-thick blades, and a large crushing chamber, these machines excel at processing bulky, hard, and mixed materials.

  • Application

Thanks to the dual-motor high-torque design and large crushing chamber, DYTSS shredders are widely used for:
Plastic recycling – Hard plastic drums, purgings, car bumpers, and HDPE containers. Example: A German recycler uses the DYSS-40130 to shred post-industrial plastic waste at 3–5 tons per hour.
Wood waste – Pallets, construction lumber, roots, and demolition timber. The DYSS-50180, equipped with Φ615 rotors and 36 blades, can process full-sized pallets and logs up to 1800mm long.
E-waste (WEEE) – Washing machine housings, printers, and computer chassis. The DYSS-32100 is a popular entry-level choice in small e-waste recycling lines.
Metals – Light ferrous and non-ferrous metals (aluminum profiles, cans, pre-shredded engine blocks).
Rubber and tires – Truck tire sidewalls and rubber scrap (often as a pre-shredder before fine grinding).
Municipal solid waste (MSW) – Bagged waste, textiles, carpet, and mixed industrial waste.
Real-world case: A waste-to-energy plant in France installed a DYSS-50180 to replace an old single-shaft shredder. Thanks to the 110 kW total drive power and hooked blade design, the dual-shaft design reduced jamming by 70% and doubled throughput of bulky waste (from 4 t/h to over 8 t/h).

Feature

Benefit

Dual independent motors and gearboxes (22×2 to 55×2 kW)

Higher starting torque; one shaft can reverse independently to clear jams – no manual intervention needed.

Large rotor diameter (Φ430–Φ615 mm)

Generates high inertia to cut through thick or hard materials without stalling.

Replaceable thick blades (40–50 mm)

Extremely high wear resistance; 50 mm blades on DYSS-40130/50180 last up to 8,000 hours when shredding mixed construction waste.

Low rotational speed (typically 50–80 rpm)

Low noise (<80 dB with housing), low dust, low overheating risk – safe for 24/7 continuous operation.

Large crushing chamber (up to 1800×1200 mm)

Accommodates full large items (e.g., 200L drums, pallets, car bumpers)

without pre-cutting.

Hexagonal or square shaft + cast alloy blades

Anti-loosening design; blades stay tight even under impact loads.

Screen/sieve plate below rotors

Controls output particle size 20–100 mm. Quick-change screen frame.

Unique selling point: The 36-blade configuration on the DYSS-50180 delivers finer initial cutting and more uniform output compared to typical dual-shaft shredders (which have fewer blades).

  • Process

Every DYTSS shredder undergoes a rigorous 8-step QC process before shipment:
Raw material verification – Blade steel (alloy tool steel such as Cr12MoV or equivalent) undergoes spectral analysis; main shaft material (42CrMo) undergoes hardness testing.
CNC machining precision – Rotor shaft runout ≤ 0.05 mm; blade mounting hole positional tolerance ±0.1 mm.
Heat treatment – Blades: vacuum hardening to 55–58 HRC; gear shafts: induction hardening.
Welding inspection – 100% of welds on crushing chamber and frame undergo MPI or ultrasonic testing.
Dynamic balancing test – Each rotor assembly is balanced to ISO 1940 G6.3 level to eliminate vibration.
No-load test – Machine runs at rated speed for 4 hours; bearing temperature rise ≤ 40°C; no abnormal noise.
Load test (real material) – Each model tested with representative materials:
DYSS-32100: shredding 50mm HDPE drums for 2 hours.
DYSS-40130: shredding mixed wood (15% moisture) at 80% load for 3 hours.
DYSS-50180: shredding car bumpers + steel-wire reinforced tires for 4 hours.
Final inspection – Function check of safety guards, electrical cabinet (Siemens or Schneider components), torque limiter, and oil cooling system.
Certifications available: CE, ISO 9001, and custom TÜV reports upon request.

  • Q&A

Q1: What is the expected output capacity for each model?
A1: Capacity depends on material, screen size, and feeding method. Typical estimates (40–60 mm screen):

Model

Soft plastic (kg/h)

Wood (kg/h)

E-waste (kg/h)

DYSS-32100

800–1200

600–900

500–800

DYSS-40130

1500–2500

1200–2000

1000–1500

DYSS-50180

3000–5000

2500–4000

1800–2800

Example: A mattress recycling plant in Spain uses the DYSS-40130 to shred polyurethane foam + textiles at 2.2 t/h.

Q2: How often do the blades need replacement or resharpening?
A2: Blade life is 3,000–8,000 hours, depending on material abrasiveness. For standard plastic/wood, resharpening every 1,500 hours. The 50 mm thick blades can be resharpened 4–5 times. Blades are reversible (4 cutting edges per blade).

Q3: Does the machine automatically shut down on overload?
A3: Yes. The DYTSS series features intelligent PLC control with current detection. If current exceeds set limits (e.g., due to unshreddable metal), the system stops the feeder, briefly reverses the shafts, then resumes forward rotation. The torque limiter protects the gearbox.

Q4: Can I shred metal drums with residual liquid?
A4: Yes, but draining is recommended. The DYSS-50180 features sealed bearing housings and optional replaceable wear liners to protect against abrasive dust. For oily materials, an air seal system is available.

Q5: What weekly maintenance is required?
A5: - Check and lubricate bearings (grease every 40 hours).
Inspect blade gap (adjustable between 0.5–3 mm).
Clean the screen plate to prevent clogging.
Check bolts on the crushing chamber – no retightening required due to anti-vibration washers (factory design advantage).

Q6: Can I change the output particle size?
A6: Absolutely. Replace the screen/sieve plate (punched or honeycomb) – sizes from 20 mm to 100 mm. Larger screens give higher throughput but coarser output.

Q7: What real-world project successfully used the DYSS-32100?
A7: A startup recycling plant in Kenya uses the DYSS-32100 to shred waste plastic bottles into flakes for washing and pelletizing. With only 44 kW total power, the machine runs on solar-assisted hybrid power, processing about 1 ton per day, saving 70% electricity compared to their old single-shaft shredder.
