DYPS Series Light Crusher

DYPS Series (Models DYPS-560, DYPS-700, DYPS-800) are designed for light-duty, high-efficiency plastic volume reduction. The series is ideal for recycling sprues, runners, reject parts, and thin-walled materials, helping injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion plants convert scrap into valuable regrind quickly and quietly.

  • Application

Injection molding plant – A manufacturer producing 500 kg/day of ABS mobile phone cases uses the DYPS-700 (37 kW, 10 rotor knives) to granulate sprues and rejects. Output: approx. 380 kg/h, directly fed back to the dryer.

Blow molding line – For HDPE bottle scrap (flash and pinch-off waste), the DYPS-560 (15 kW, 6 knives) with a 560×400 mm feed opening runs at 180–220 kg/h, producing very few fines.

Sheet and thermoforming – A packaging plant uses the DYPS-800 (55 kW, 10 knives) to recycle PP edge trim and waste trays. The 800×800 mm hopper accepts large sheets without pre-cutting, achieving output up to 600 kg/h.

Each DYPS granulator passes a 4-stage test before shipment:

Raw material inspection – Blades use certified D2 or SKD-11 steel (hardness HRC 58-62). Cast steel rotor body is X-ray inspected for internal defects.

Sub-assembly testing – Rotor dynamic balancing ≤6.3 mm/s (ISO 1940-1). Bearing housing runout <0.02 mm.

No-load test – Runs continuously for 2 hours at rated speed. Vibration ≤1.8 mm/s; noise: DYPS-560/700 ≤78 dB(A), DYPS-800 ≤82 dB(A).

Material load test – Each model tested with three typical plastics (ABS, HDPE, PC/ABS blend). Output must reach ≥95% of reference value. Example: DYPS-800 with 55 kW motor – tested with PP regrind at 600 kg/h (8 mm screen); gearbox temperature rise <35°C.

Batch records kept for 10 years – each unit ships with a signed test report.

Q1: Can the DYPS560 process 5 mm thick PC sheet?
A: Yes, but limit feed width to 400 mm and PC thickness ≤6 mm. For frequent thicker material, upgrade to DYPS-700 (larger rotor diameter). One German customer processing 4 mm polycarbonate sheet achieves 210 kg/h – higher than the 200 kg/h reference.

Q2: How often should blades be replaced?
A: Rotor knife life is 300–600 hours, depending on material abrasiveness (glass-filled plastics reduce life by 40%). Counter knives can be reversed once. We stock blades for next-day delivery.

Q3: Is the “400 kg/h” output for DYPS-700 guaranteed?

A: Guaranteed under standard conditions: material bulk density 0.5–0.6 g/cm³ (e.g., ABS runners), 10 mm screen, continuous feeding. With the 22 kW / 6-knife configuration processing fluffy LDPE film scrap, actual output drops to ~250 kg/h – for film, choose the 37 kW / 10-knife version.

Q4: What safety features are included?
A: Hopper interlock switch (stops rotor when opened), motor overload relay, reverse/forward buttons (for clearing jams), and a magnetic bar for ferrous contaminants.

Q5: Can it granulate nylon (PA6) with high moisture content?
A: The granulator itself does not dry material, but the open rotor design prevents “clumping”. For hygroscopic resins (PA, PC), we recommend pre-drying before feeding or opt for a hopper hot-air purge device.

Q6: How does the DYPS compare to a single-shaft shredder?
A: The DYPS is a high-speed granulator – best suited for small-to-medium scrap (thickness <8 mm). For purgings, large blocks, or thick parts (20+ mm), use a shredder. Many customers place the DYPS-800 downstream of a shredder for final fine-size reduction to 6 mm.
