PVC Profile Wide Board Extruder Extrusion Line

This PVC profile wide board extrusion line uses the SJZ series conical twin-screw extruder. It produces boards with a width ranging from 600 to 1000 mm, with main motor power from 37 to 110 kW and maximum output from 150 to 700 kg/h. The equipment offers uniform plasticization and low energy consumption, suitable for building wall panels, decorative panels, industrial liners, etc., meeting the needs of efficient and stable mass production.

  • Application

Our extrusion line is widely used to produce PVC profile wide boards in construction, decoration, transportation, and advertising.
Typical end products include:
PVC flooring and decking (using SJZ65/132, width up to 600 mm)
Wall panels and ceiling tongue-and-groove panels (using SJZ80/156, width 600–800 mm)
Roofing panels and industrial liners (using SJZ92/188, width 800–1000 mm)
Custom profiles for window frames, cable trays, and automotive trim
Real case: A building materials factory in Southeast Asia uses the SJZ80/156 to produce 700 mm wide waterproof wall panels, achieving a stable output of 360 kg/h, reducing scrap by 12% compared to its previous single-screw line.

  • Advantages

Optimized for wide and profile shapes
The conical twin-screw design (SJZ series) ensures uniform melting and excellent plasticization, even for highfiller PVC formulations. This directly supports the 600–1000 mm width range without sacrificing thickness uniformity.
High torque and energy efficiency
SJZ65/132 (37 kW) reaches 150–200 kg/h – energy consumption as low as 0.19–0.25 kWh/kg.
SJZ92/188 (110 kW) outputs up to 700 kg/h, ideal for high-volume production.
Stable output and low maintenance
The twin-screw design minimizes pressure fluctuations, ensuring constant melt pressure. Hardened screws and barrels extend service life by 30–40% compared to standard extruders.
Fast die change
Designed for profile boards – switching between flat die and profile die can be done within 90 minutes, reducing downtime.
User-friendly PLC control
Touchscreen interface for real-time monitoring of temperature, pressure, and screw speed. Automatic alarm system prevents overheating or overload.

  • Process

We implement a four-stage quality assurance system to ensure each production line meets your specifications.

Stage

Process

Tools/Standards

Raw material inspection

Test PVC resin, stabilizers, and fillers for moisture content, particle size, and thermal stability.

Moisture meter, sieve shaker,

 thermal aging oven

Inline process monitoring

Continuously measure melt temperature, pressure, and screw torque. Automatically adjust parameters.

Pressure sensor (±0.5% accuracy),

thermocouple

Dimensional inspection

Sample every 30 minutes to measure board width, thickness, and crosssection profile.

Laser micrometer, profile projector,

gauge blocks

Physical & mechanical testing

Perform tensile strength, impact strength (Izod), and heat deflection temperature tests on finished boards.

Universal tester, notched impact tester,

 HDT/Vicat apparatus

Workshop example: During a factory acceptance test for an SJZ92/188 line, we produced 950 mm wide, 3 mm thick PVC roofing panels. Thickness tolerance was controlled within ±0.05 mm, and impact strength exceeded 25 kJ/m² – well above the customer’s requirement of 18 kJ/m².

  • Q&A

Q1: How to select the right model based on product width?
Max width 600 mm → SJZ65/132 (output 150–200 kg/h)
Width 600–800 mm → SJZ80/156 (output 300–400 kg/h)
Width 800–1000 mm → SJZ92/188 (output 550–700 kg/h)
Recommendation: Always consider future capacity expansion. Many customers start with the SJZ80/156 because it covers most building profile applications.

Q2: Can you produce boards thinner than 1 mm?
Yes, all models can extrude boards from 0.8 mm to 15 mm thickness by adjusting die gap and screw speed. For ultrathin boards (<1 mm), we recommend adding a melt pump to ensure pressure stability.

Q3: What causes uneven width or wavy edges?
Common causes:
Uneven cooling (adjust water flow in the calibration tank)
Insufficient melt temperature (increase each heating zone by 5–10°C)
Screw flight wear (measure screw tip clearance – if >0.3 mm, replace)

Q4: How often should the screw and barrel be replaced?
For processing standard rigid PVC (without recycled material): screws typically last 18,000–22,000 hours. If using 30% recycled material or high calcium carbonate filler, inspect for wear every 8,000 hours.

Q5: What is the typical total power demand excluding the main motor?
Auxiliary components (heating, cooling fans, puller, winder) add about 40–50% more power. For the SJZ80/156 (main motor 55 kW), total installed power is about 80–85 kW.

Q6: Can you produce boards thinner than 1 mm?

Yes, all models can produce boards from 0.8 mm to 15 mm thickness by adjusting die gap and screw speed. For ultrathin boards (<1 mm), we recommend adding a melt pump to ensure pressure stability and thickness uniformity.

Q7: What causes uneven width or wavy edges?

Three common reasons:
① Uneven cooling in the sizing tank (adjust water flow);
② Insufficient melt temperature (increase each heating zone by 5–10°C);
③ Worn screw flights (check screw tip clearance – if >0.3 mm, replace). First check cooling and temperature, then inspect screw wear.
