PVC Transparent Sheet / Decorative Sheet Material Extrusion Extruder Production Line

This PVC transparent sheet / decorative sheet material extrusion production line (models SJZ80/156 and SJZ92/188) is designed for high output and multi-specification production. Product width can reach 1220–2000 mm, thickness 0.5–5 mm, and output up to 700 kg/h. It is suitable for producing transparent sheets, wood-plastic boards, marble-like sheets, and decorative panels, featuring low energy consumption, excellent surface quality, and multi-product flexibility.

  • Application

This production line primarily targets two product categories, each with different specifications:
Transparent Sheet (Model SJZ80/156)
Product width: 1220 mm (standard panel size for construction and signage industries)
Thickness range: 0.5–3 mm
Output: 400 kg/h
Real-world applications: Transparent protective covers, machine guards, office transparent partition walls (post-pandemic hygiene solution), and thermoformed blister packaging. For example, a European packaging company used this line to produce 4,000 m² of 0.8 mm transparent sheet per 10-hour shift.

PVC Decorative Sheet (Model SJZ92/188)

Product width: 2000 mm (ultra-wide – enabling seamless wall cladding)
Thickness: 1.5 mm (fixed thickness for decorative panels)
Output: 600–700 kg/h
Real-world applications: Widely used for cabinet films, furniture laminates, and interior wall panels. A Turkish furniture manufacturer switched to our 2000 mm wide sheet and eliminated trimming operations, reducing material waste by 30%.

Other products that can be manufactured on the same series:

Wood-plastic board (1220 mm wide, 1.5–3 mm thick, 450 kg/h) – for outdoor decking and automotive interiors.
UV marble-like decorative board (1220 mm wide, 4–5 mm thick, 600 kg/h) – for luxury hotel lobbies and retail displays.

  • Advantages

High Output with Low Energy Consumption
SJZ80/156 achieves 400–450 kg/h for standard sheets; SJZ92/188 reaches 600–700 kg/h – 20% higher than traditional single-screw extruders.
Case study: A Vietnamese flooring manufacturer upgraded from an old 90 mm extruder (350 kg/h) to our SJZ92/188, increasing daily output from 6.8 to 11.5 tonnes with only a 12% increase in energy consumption.

Wide Thickness and Width Adaptability
Using a calibrated screw design, the same line can produce thicknesses from 0.5 mm (transparent sheet) up to 5 mm (marble-like sheet).
Width up to 2000 mm – reduces the number of panels needed for large-area applications such as exhibition booths.

Excellent Surface Quality

The combination of PVC raw materials and precision die eliminates “orange peel” effect on transparent sheets.
For UV marble-like decorative boards, the 4–5 mm thickness allows deep embossing and realistic stone textures.

Multi-Product Capability

By simply changing the die and cooling calibrator, the same extruder (SJZ80/156) can produce transparent sheets, wood-plastic boards, or marble-like sheets. This allows manufacturers to flexibly respond to market demands.

  • Process

We implement a 7step quality inspection process following ASTM and EN standards at our partner factories. The actual workflow is shown below:

Stage

Test Item

Equipment

Target Specification (example)

1. Raw material

Moisture content

Halogen moisture analyzer

<0.3% for PVC powder

2. Extrusion process

Melt pressure & temperature

Melt pressure sensor (max 50 MPa)

Temperature stable within ±2°C

3. Dimensional check

Thickness deviation

Laser thickness gauge (online)

±0.03 mm for 1.5 mm sheet

4. Surface defects

Pinholes, scratches

Highspeed camera inspection system

No pinholes per m² for transparent sheet

5. Mechanical properties

Tensile strength

Universal testing machine

>45 MPa (ASTM D638)

6. Optical properties (transparent sheet)

  • Q&A

Q1: Can the same line produce both 0.5 mm transparent sheet and 5 mm marble-like sheet?
A: Yes, but it requires different die gaps and screw configurations. The SJZ80/156 extruder has sufficient torque (up to 800 Nm) to withstand the high back pressure needed for 5 mm thick sheet. However, for sheet thickness above 4 mm, we recommend a two-stage cooling calibrator to prevent warpage.

Q2: What is the actual energy consumption per tonne?

A: For transparent sheet (400 kg/h): approx. 220–250 kWh/tonne. For decorative sheet (700 kg/h): approx. 210 kWh/tonne. A Thai customer recorded an average of 238 kWh/tonne over six months of production.

Q3: How to prevent die lines on transparent sheet?

A: Die lines are usually caused by carbonized PVC residues. Our solutions:
Use a chrome-plated die with surface roughness Ra <0.02 μm.
Run a “purge compound” every 80 consecutive production hours.
Keep melt temperature below 190°C (measured by sensor at die inlet).

Q4: What is the maximum roll width for 0.5 mm sheet?

A: The standard die width is 1220 mm, giving a usable width of 1200 mm after trimming. We offer custom die options for the SJZ80/156 up to 1400 mm – a South Korean customer uses this configuration to produce 0.5 mm sheet for greenhouse covering.

Q5: Does the equipment support using recycled PVC (PCR)?

A: Yes, up to 30% clean, dry, ground recyclate (6–8 mm mesh size) can be added without affecting output. For transparent sheets, we recommend using only virgin material to maintain clarity. For marble-like sheets and wood-plastic boards, up to 50% recyclate is acceptable.

Q6: How long does it take to switch from transparent sheet to wood-plastic or imitation marble board?

Answer: On the SJZ80/156, the changeover takes about 2-3 hours. You need to replace the calibrator and cooling tank. If switching from 0.5mm to 5mm thickness, the screw configuration also needs adjustment. For only a color or filler change, cleaning the hopper and screw takes about 30 minutes to resume production.

Q7: Our factory has 480V/60Hz power. Can the machine be customized?

Answer: Yes. Our electrical cabinet and main motor can be customized for voltages from 380V to 690V, 50Hz or 60Hz. For North American customers, we offer a 460V/60Hz configuration and can design heaters/contactors to meet UL/CSA standards. Please provide your local voltage and phase when ordering.
